Competitor INFORMATION

This tour and the points associated with it are for the sole purpose of establishing a recognized and sanctioned Canadian “Player Ranking List”

This ranking list will be the basis for international player selection into events such as the WPA World 9-Ball Championships, the World Cup of Pool, the World Pool Masters and the WPA World 10 Ball Championships.

  • Seeding for each event will be based on individual player performance in events during that particular season.

  • Each event will be run on a "roll on" basis where matches will be allocated to pool tables as they become available. As a match ends, another match will be called to that open table. All players must be aware of where they are placed in the draw and when their respective matches are nearing play.

Tournament officials assume no responsibility for match times. It is the player’s responsibility to be available for their respective match and to check the draw sheet for their opening match and starting time.

Tournament Rules:

  • Play will commence at 10am each day (Saturday & Sunday).

  • A player will be allowed a 15 minute grace period prior to the start of a match. After this time should a player not be at the designated pool table and available for their respective match, the match will be forfeited.

  • Cue ball fouls only. This rule applies to stationary balls only, any moving ball interfered with shall constitute a foul. The tour rule is that if one ball is touched or moved - no foul. If more than one ball is touched or moved, this will be a foul. In each case the incoming player will have the right to either replace the moved ball(s) back to their original position, or leave them as they sit.

  • If at any time a player wishes to have an official in attendance to call a hit, they are advised to lay their cues on the pool tables and draw attention to an official that their presence is required. A foul cannot be determined after a shot has been played.

  • Each player will be allowed one - 5 minute break per match, during play. This break can only be taken when that player is in control of the pool table, (it is their turn to play). Abuse of this break privilege will result in a warning. Further abuse can result in disqualification and forfeit of that match.

  • Any unsportsmanlike behavior will result in a warning. A second warning will result in that player’s disqualification.

  • All matches apart from the final will be a race to 9, winner breaks.

  • Players will rack their own balls with the 2 ball placed at the bottom of the rack.

  • The 9 ball will be re-spotted if it is pocketed on the break. Accidental concession will result in loss of rack.

  • Jump cues are allowed.

  • No T-shirts, jeans or running shoes will be allowed.

  • Practice time will be subject to table availability. Each player will be allowed to hit one practice rack prior to the start of their match.

  • SLOW PLAY. Each match will be allowed 90 minutes for completion. If a match does not have 9 racks completed at the halfway point (45 minutes into match), the tournament director has the right to put this match on a 30 second shot clock.

  • All players must report their match results back to the tournament control area asap.

  • Absolutely no videos or photography will be allowed without prior consent from Canadian 9-Ball Tour officials.
